DFW Breweries you can’t miss

Some breweries have the great effect of bringing people together and providing an environment of relaxed fun. Find out the best places to grab a beer in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Not ranked in order – as they are each unique – below are my top 10 breweries that will not disappoint.

  1. Oak Highlands Brewery – Dallas, TX
    • This is hands down one of my favorite breweries offering a broad selection of beers – from Ales to Stouts and everything in between. It’s spacious and sometimes has small bagged chips. They have an area for live music and their tables are spaced out quite a bit so you don’t need to scream to hear one another. They’re dog friendly, the staff is great and they have lots of taproom exclusives.
  2. Outlaw Cider – Grapevine, TX
    • If you want a beer but your date wants wine – check out this spot inside of the Sloan & Williams Winery. They have a great selection of beers on tap, amazing tapas and options for your non-zythophiles. They also have great desserts and amazing cheese platters. Good live music depending on the day. Definitely recommend stopping by before or after your family photo-op at the Christmas Capital of Texas during the holidays.
  3. Deep Ellum – Dallas, TX
    • They have 15+ beers on tap, amazing food (get the mac-n-cheese), chill vibe and cool merchandise. With so many options, definitely recommend getting a tasting. Majority of their selection is Ales, they also have a decent amount of seltzers and then a few other options. They’re only open Wednesday to Sunday, have a patio, sometimes have live music and events like Geeks Who Drink Trivia.
  4. Four Corners – Dallas, TX
    • This brewery has a great selection of brews and plenty of space indoors and outdoors. They have a colorful photo-op area next to their large parking lot. They have a decent food menu that even includes Chicken and waffles, tacos and more. They also have kombucha – regardless of what you get you’ll get to keep your glass.
  5. Oak Cliff Brewing – Dallas, TX
    • This chill brewery is located in the historical Tyler Station meaning it’s at the heart of innovation, collabortion and community for Oak Cliff and you can take the Red line train there. It has a Biergarten around the back with plenty of picnic tables and typically a taco truck if you get hungry. They have a varied selection of 10 brews on tap. They have a dog on staff that’s adorable and are kind enough to bottle up your drink into a sealed can if you want to finish it later.
  6. Locust Cider – Forth Worth, Texas
    • This colorful spot offers 10 of the most refreshing delicious cider you’ll have on tap. You can get a flight, a can, a glass or a growler. They typically have food trucks outside and some small bites like flatbread pizza. The ambiance is pretty chill and the staff is incredibly friendly and not pushy at all. Get the Vanilla Bean if you like sweet and smooth.
  7. Guitars & Growlers – McKinney, Texas | Richardson, TX
    • This hip spot offers a broad selection of brews and even some wines. You can do a beer or wine flight and there’s free popcorn. Live music at this spot is great but go early in the day if you want to chat with folks. It can get pretty lively and loud when there’s a band playing. You can borrow some games or get your own. They have a fantastic burger and large menu in case you get hungry.
  8. Four Bullets – Richardson, TX
    • This brewery has a great friendly neighborhood vibe with fair prices and ample hand-crafted beers on tap including IPAs, Brocks, Stouts, Ports and more. They have games for both indoors and outdoors, like corn hole. Depending on the day they’ll have food trucks and live music.
  9. Bishop Cider/Cidercade – Dallas, TX
    • Expansive selection of creative ciders, they have several new and rotating options. The best way to go at this spot is to get a flight. Their ciders aren’t too sweet – some of their options aren’t sweet at all. If you want to try some of their ciders and play you can also go to Cidercade for a small entrance fee ($10) you can play over 140 arcade games available. It’s a bit tight and parking can take time to fund but it is tons of fun. They do have a few limited number of tables you can eat at – there’s almost always a food truck and you can also order food to be delivered.
  10. 3 Nations Brewing – Carrollton, TX
    • Situated in an old grain shed in Historic Downtown Carrallton this spacious brewey will not disappoint. They have great taproom selections and their limited small batch Friday new beer releases every week will have you coming back with anticipation. They have a full kitchen, live music on Saturdays and host a variety of events from catching a game to trivia nights.
